Paterson Opens New Grain Terminal to Serve Canadian Grain Producers

Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of its inland export terminal in the Rural Municipality of Lake of the Rivers, on Hwy. 717, northeast of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan.

Mr. Andrew B. Paterson, President and CEO of Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. and special guests will officially open the newest Saskatchewan inland export terminal on Thursday, June 25, 2009.

Paterson first opened a facility in the Assiniboia area in 1913 and the new state-of-the-art facility boasts:

  • the first 130 rail car spot in Western Canada with the ability to load a complete unit train in 8 hours;
  • a total storage capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes and dual driveways to serve customers; and
  • plans for the immediate development of a crop input centre for distribution of seed, chemical and fertilizer.
